Age is just a number
What if? Instead of thinking about our age in numbers or years we just live our life in a positive narrative. Not I look good for 55, or you are in great shape for 70, or wow good for you for still traveling at 80. How about you look good, wow you are in great shape, how great that you love to travel. Let’s eliminate the age and just give a compliment or comment-not age related.
“Age is just a number. It’s totally irrelevant unless, of course, you happen to be a bottle of wine.” Joan Collins
Together we can change the narrative
We can change the narrative about ageism by changing the conversation.
- A way of living instead of a state of being.
- Socially valuable part of life.
- Celebrate your age.
- If not today when?
- How young are you? Instead of how old are you?
- Dress for you not your age.
- You are beautiful.
Age has no limitations, only the one’s you set for yourself
I truly believe that age is a mindset and that these can be the best years of our lives if we just get out of our own way. Instead of thinking about the past and how much fun we had or how great we looked or how simple life was. Let’s embrace today! Find your passion and live it. A new career? A new hobby? Romance? Travel? New friendships? Dance lessons? It’s not about your age it really is about just getting started.
A friend of mine is absolutely hilarious in conversation and story telling; throughout her life she has constantly been told that she should do stand up comedy. And one day after hitting 50, cancer in remission, she thought if not now when; she practiced a routine, looked for amateur comedy clubs and made a commitment to perform. Not for her friends, not for her kids for her! My goodness she survived cancer she could certainly survive being on a stage in front of strangers.
What is stopping you?
Hugs,
KC
