One of my favorite things to do on a girls weekend is stay at a resort with a beautiful pool, cabanas, pool side service for lunch and cocktails and if there is a spa near by-oy a perfect weekend. There is nothing better when you only have a couple of days together to just relax and enjoy quality time and conversation and never leave the resort.
There are too many great resorts to list here in this post so I have decided to limit it to the Marriott chain and their US pools. Hopefully no matter where you live in the United States I have listed one near you or within a short flight.*
In alphabetical order:
JW Marriott Charlotte North Carolina– Open year-round, the heated rooftop Aura Pool with the best city views. “A lush oasis hidden amidst the glass and steel towers of the city, Aura Pool offers an enchanting retreat — with bubbly wine (yes please), frozen cocktails and poolside small bites.” Treat yourself to Dean’s Italian Steakhouse or enjoy seafood at Caroline’s Raw Bar.
W Aspen Colorado-“W Aspen invites you to lounge poolside on the rooftop that is complete with a heated pool, hot tub, fire pits, beverage + food service, and exceptional 360-degree views of the Colorado rookies.” Even if you are not into skiing this beautiful location lends itself to a perfect weekend away.
Goodtime Hotel Miami Beach Florida-Okay really?! The name says it all. Pool parties with celebrity DJs are a regular occurrence at this pink and white striped poolside retreat. Even if you are not traveling to Florida you need to check out this hotels website and its “vibe” that is reminiscent of the hit tv show Miami Vice. If you are close to my age I know that you know what I am talking about.
Sheraton Waikiki, Oahu-Such a great location and recently completely renovated. “Choose between the adults only Edge Infinity Pool and family-friendly Helumoa Playground pool. Voted as the #1 Best Hotel Pools in the nation by USA Today 10 Best readers, our pool experiences offer stunning views of Waikiki and Diamond Head.”
The Lodge at Sonoma California-This is so close to home of course I could not help but mention it. A lovely pool area, upscale secluded spa and their restaurant Witt and Wisdom; Michael Mina’s first venture into wine country dining. Can I just say, absolutely fabulous. Also, walking distance to shops, wineries and more restaurants. Contact me if you visit Sonoma.
Although kids are allowed at these resorts this post is mostly adult friendly, I will post a family friendly pool trends blog in the coming weeks. I try to consider different price points and locations to where my followers live in all posts.
