Whether you are a female solo traveler or looking to book a girls trip I have created a list of countries I would consider traveling to alone or in a group. In my research determining factors were low crime rate, political stability, local attitudes towards women and of course, beauty, historical attractions and things to do.
Austria: A walkable city with good cycling paths, picturesque cities and countryside, and rich arts culture. Austria is famous for its castles, palaces and buildings, among other architectural works.
Croatia: Low crime rates, safe transportation routes, reliable taxi services and friendly and hospitable locals makes this a favorite destination for women. Lying at the junction of central and southeast Europe, Croatia is famed for its nature, culture, history, and gastronomy.
Denmark: Due to Denmark’s emphasis on community, work-life balance, and gender equality; add a well-designed public transportation system this makes for a top spot on our travel list. Copenhagen, the capital city, is celebrated for its food culture and safety, making it a desirable destination for many.
Iceland: A small country with a population of only 300,000 people, you will find Iceland to be friendly, safe, and easy to connect with the local communities. Nearly all Icelanders speak perfect English and you’ll find English menus and signs everywhere. Renowned for its natural wonders, rich history, and Viking heritage.
Ireland: Number eight on the list of the world’s safest countries to visit and an English-speaking country with extremely friendly locals. It’s hard to beat the culture and the beauty of Ireland. Go see the Blarney Stone in Cork, have a pint in Dublin or visit a haunted castle in Offaly.
Portugal: Often mentioned as one of the friendliest countries to visit Portugal is perfect for solo travelers. Home to a wealth of museums, historic sites, restaurants, and nightlife. Also considered an affordable European country it makes group travel attractive too. I am hoping to visit Spain/Portugal in September of 2024-let me know if you would like to join or group.
