Okay my truth is I really don’t care about the fact that I am single on Valentines Day. Even when I was married it was never a big celebration in our household. We both considered it a Hallmark Holiday. Of course I would get flowers sent to me if my ex was out of town or a gift if he was home but we rarely went out to celebrate. We would cook dinner in instead and treat ourselves to a nice bottle of sparkling.

But! If you are single and feeling down while everyone else is wearing red and talking about their special day-create your own. You do not need a partner to do it. Celebrating Valentine’s Day as a single woman can be a wonderful opportunity to focus on self-love, appreciation, and enjoyment.

Here are some ideas to make the day special for you:

Celebrate with your single friends by organizing a fun get-together. It could be a movie night, a potluck dinner, or a spa day at home.

Creative Outlet engage in a creative activity you enjoy, whether it’s painting, writing, crafting, or playing music. Expressing yourself creatively can be a fulfilling and enjoyable way to spend the day. For me it would be dancing alone in the kitchen-Earth Wind and Fire blaring and cooking one of my favorite meals. And my dogs looking at me like I have lost it:)

Go shopping it doesn’t have to be something pricey. Treat yourself to a sweet smelling lotion, new scarf, sale sweater, new pair of earrings whatever it is that will make you feel pampered.

Movie/TV night with your favorite reality show, film or better yet rent something new. Indulge yourself with that forbidden snack-chocolate, pizza, popcorn, abundant cheese tray and your favorite beverages.

Pamper yourself with a spa day, a massage, or a beauty treatment. Or stay at home and pamper you with a steam facial,  long hot bath, foot treatment, lavish body oils and of course-chocolate.

These can be the best years of our lives we just need to make it happen!
